Valbruna is named after a small mountain village in the North-Eastern Alps of Italy, the Julian Alps, with a population of about 100 people who live there year-round. Most of them gathered on October 4th, 1998, to wish good luck to the Valbruna store and stood together for a group picture that is featured on an 8 ft. x 3 ft. print in the store. Valbruna owner Marco Tonazzi grew up in Valbruna where he now spends most of the summers with his wife Amy, whose skied in many Warren Miller movies, and daughters Isabella and Liliana.
